Summary: The Port Arthur Housing Authority (“PAHA”) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Mechanic A. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain an Authority housing site and grounds. The incumbent will perform carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs in response to work orders generated by service requests or unit inspections. This position also performs general repairs on maintenance equipment as needed.
Experience/Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required and a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or building maintenance, or vocational training focusing in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs. Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under the Authority’s plan. Must pass and maintain passing ability on basic air conditioner and refrigeration test. Test must be passed within 6 months of employment and within two attempts of passing.
Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and be insurable under the Authority’s plan.
